LED lamps are worth? The quick answer is NO! Are generally weak, badly made and too bluish.
However, If we take into consideration that the lighting uncomfortable is not a problem for corridors or passageways, and some good models have high lifetime, then the picture changes! Below is the table of comparison of incandescent bulbs (those old yellow), compact fluorescent lamps (LFC) and the brand new LED.
LED bulbs are usually guys, but this is not the case of this Chinese 12W LED bulb and 600 lumens coming out for little more than 10 real. The brightness is equivalent to a 40 ~ 60W incandescent.
Nice and compact, but there is no gain in efficiency compared to the fluorescent. A compact 12W fluorescent also will have approximately 600 lumens of brightness.
The lamp is made of 12 SMD Leds. Barely heats up, What is an advantage in relation to incandescent or fluorescent.
It is very bright. In the hallway in the building she won easily the 9W fluorescent and certainly would be equivalent to a same incandescent power.
If really worth it, It now depends on the useful life. For the price it was worth the test. Used here to illuminate the pictures and she has no problem with the refresh of the camera. Is weaker, However, than the 15W which I use as Key Light. I leave the link to the TinyDeal and other similar lamps in DealExtreme.
I liked the article.

I really like this lamp. But most burns when installed into a chandelier…
