Did you know that rechargeable batteries have 1.2 V voltage while the common are 1.5 V? This small voltage difference (about of 20%) can cause the rechargeable battery does not work properly, or lasts a short time in most appliances.
That's when a Chinese had the idea of using rechargeable batteries 3.2 V (LiFePO4) or even 3.7 V (Lipo) in place of common batteries 1.5 V. Logical that the voltage difference is too big to do a one-to-one replacement. But it's perfectly possible to replace two common cells with a higher voltage!
To perform this replacement was pissed a Dummy stack just to close the circuit in place of the traditional batteries. Like this, You can use high capacity rechargeable batteries for energy storage in common appliances, always in pairs: a Dummy and a high voltage!
Below we have the Dummy stacks on AA and AAA size.
These are AA batteries. You can tell which are stacks of 0V (Zero Volts)!
It seems a common stack. But it's not!
If your appliance has power to two batteries you can put a dummy (Yellow) and another 3.7 V (Lipo). The total voltage is 3.7 V because the dummy only closes the circuit. A voltage 20% to 30% greater probably won't burn the device, and if work properly certainly there will be an increase in durability.
To remember not to put two 3.7 V battery in the appliance that works with 3V I always leave the Dummy batteries stored in the same support!
The original idea is to use 3.2 V cells (LiFePO4), What is safer because the voltage difference is much smaller. I think it's quite possible that the idea works also for the 3.7 V (Lipo).
Very careful at this time, Don't risk putting the of 3.2 V or 3.7 V that camera or toy that you love. Can absolutely cause permanent damage! What makes this idea of dummy batteries a thing of crazy, is not?
